Graphic Designer

A position has become available for an experienced Graphic Designer to join our busy studio team within an established printer.

This role would suit a graphic designer who can work independently to solve client briefs across a variety of deliverables, developing creative designs and layouts for brochures, leaflets, advertising and signage.

The role also involves working on branding and logo designing for various clients. The successful candidate would be working in a high-paced environment on a vast range of tasks across many sectors.

The role will also include non-creative duties in Pre-press, full training will be given in these areas.

Must be efficient in Adobe Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.


• Proven experience as a graphic designer with a strong portfolio of design work

• Expert in industry-standard design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign),

• Ability to work with typography, photography, and illustration to produce high-quality designs for print and web media

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and team members

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Graphic Design or a related field is preferred

• Ability to work collaboratively with other designers, account managers, and production staff

Apprentice Print Operative 

 We are looking for an Apprentice Print Operative to join our friendly professional team.

What will I learn? 

• You will undertake a 4 Year Modern Apprentice Programme. 

• On the job training at our Dumfries site operating the most modern printing machines and associated machinery. 

• You will be expected to achieve a minimum of SVQ Press Level 2 route 1, Modern Apprenticeship (MA) certification in print. 

• Confidently operate production machines – Komori, Ryobi and Canon Arizona printing machines and various print finishing machines. 

• Complete jobs in a timely manner to meet customer expectations and maintain the high standards they demand. 

What qualifications/skills should I have? 

• You must have gained or be working towards National 4 or above in Maths, English and a Science or Technical Subject, or accredited equivalent. 

• You must be literate and numerate. 

• You must be reliable and keen to learn. 

• Willingness to work in a practical environment. 

• Have an eagerness to learn new skills. 

• Ability to build key relationships with other departments and not be afraid to ask questions. 

• You must have excellent attention to detail and use your own initiative. 

• Be a team player with the ability to take instruction.
